Doug Stein Consulting was formed in 2019 to meet the needs of housing associations, specifically those managing and maintaining stock / asset portfolios. Managing these large housing asset portfolios is core business for Housing Associations and both senior managers and non-executives must be sure that they have (and are able to evidence) their rigorous and effective systems of control assuring Safety, Wellbeing, Compliance, Risk Management, Value for Money and the ongoing Viability of the business they are responsible for.

Doug has a wealth of experience in social housing having held senior positions (generally with asset management at their core however also encompassing wider portfolio responsibilities) with high performing organisations. These include Family Mosaic (Group Director of Asset Management), DCH – Devon and Cornwall Housing (Group Director of Asset Management), WDH – West Devon Homes (CEO) and LiveWest (Executive Director of Property Services).

Wider portfolio experience also includes Business Continuity Management, Customer Service, Procurement, Environmental Management, Landlord Compliance, Health & Safety, Facilities Management and development of in-house maintenance and management services. Leading organisations and teams through change is a core skill, having led WDH through amalgamation, built substantial and high performing in-house teams and integrated organisations as part of amalgamations and corporate re-structuring.

 

Prior to joining the housing sector in 2008 Doug enjoyed a career in property, sourcing and supply chain management. Working for leading organisations including Nokia, GlaxoSmithKline and Lloyds Group he has honed his skills including leadership, business process, stakeholder management and commercial focus.
